Dominos veg pizza recipe from scratch!
The veg pizza filled with a lot of cheese and with toppings of olive and your favorite veggies is the tastiest and easy snack which can be made anytime very easily with just a few key tips. To get that key tips to read the article till last. There is a long story behind the birth of this pizza but we will not discuss that today.
The recipe discussed in this article have been kept very simple and no fancy equipment had been used like pizza stone etc.
So, let's start making our dominos style veg pizza without wasting any more time!
Pizza Dough Making:
- Take 1/5 teaspoon of instant yeast and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. Put it into a mixing bowl.
- 2 teaspoons of dry active yeast can also be used instead of instant yeast.
- Pour 1 cup of lukewarm water. Water should be around 44 degrees Celcius.
- Stir and keep the bowl aside. Hot water will make the yeast active.
- In 15-20 minutes, the yeast will start bubbling and increase in size.
- Take 1 cup of unbleached all-purpose flour and mix it with 3 tablespoons of olive oil + 1 tablespoon of salt.
- Now stir it a whisker or a wooden spoon.
- Add again a cup of flour. Keep stirring. The mixture will start becoming sticky and gluey type.
- Add the last cup of flour and stir. Now knead it properly. Sprinkle some flour or ghee while kneading to prevent the dough from sticking in your hand.
- Knead the dough soft and elastic. With time the dough will not last sticky.
- Now keep the dough in a deep bowl and brush it lightly with olive oil to not get sticking to the bowl. Cover it with a clean cotton cloth and keep it for rest:1 hour for instant yeast/2 hours for dry active yeast.
- After 1 hour your dough will get double in size, this dough can be wrapped with plastic and stored in the refrigerator.
Pizza Sauce:
- Take 5 to 6 medium-size tomatoes and dice them. You can also blanch the tomatoes and then blend them (optional).
- Mash/Crush the chopped or blanched tomatoes in a blender/grinder to make the puree out of it.
- Keep it a bit chunky and fresh type. Now, take a large pan and add 1/4 cup of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of minced garlic.
- Cook until the garlic becomes soft.
- Now, add the tomato puree and mix well. Let tomatoes get cooked for 4-5 minutes. Keep stirring.
- Add salt as per taste then cover the lid and let the mixture get cooked for 20 minutes on low flame until the tomatoes get softened and sauce get thick properly. Keep stirring often.
- You can add some water if you feel your sauce is too thick.
- Add some herbs and crushed black pepper ( 1/4 cup of basil, 2-3 tablespoons of oregano).
- Now mix everything well and keep the sauce aside and let it cool properly. This pizza sauce can be stored for up to 15 days in an air-tight container in the fridge, in the freezer(3 months).
- Storing the pizza sauce properly gives you access to use the sauce anytime easily.
Baking and assembling the pizza:
- First, preheat your oven to the highest temperature available in your oven.
- Take round metal baking vessel which is used for baking cakes also. Grease it with olive oil. Then sprinkle some flour.
- Divide the pizza dough into equal parts and make round balls of it.
- Make sure you use clean hands while making the base of the pizza. Once you make the balls out of dough. Sprinkle/coat some flour.
- Actually, the pizza base is not rolled with the help of a rolling pin. It is stretched with the hands but this needs practice and for everyone, it is not possible. So you can roll the pizza base with the help of a rolling pin only.
- Once you roll it to your desired size then you can place the pizza base gently carefully in the baking vessel.
- Now prick the dough with a folk. This helps to make the pizza base crisper. Take a greasing brush and grease it with some olive oil.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly and then cover it with full of diced or Mozzarella cheese.
- Now add your choice of veggies as a topping. But make sure that you add the toppings evenly.
- Veggies like(mushroom, capsicum, olives, broccoli corn, etc can be added. Now finally, bake your pizza in a preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes until your cheese gets melts.

What if we don't have an oven?
-Take a kadhai and fill it with salt. Then add a cup so the pizza dish can be a few inches upper from salt. Then add the pizza dish and cover the kadhai with Tawa. Cook it for 15-20 minutes on low flame.
